Remember to use lots of different media forms when answering these questions - not just text!
In the evaluation the following four questions must be addressed:
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

AS Record Store Day
Soundclash is one of the last Independent record shops in East Anglia and was opened in February 1991.
TheD Norwich city centre shop specialises in new releases, independent and underground music from around the world on vinyl and CD and is also the frontline city centre stockist for gig and festival tickets, DVDs, magazines, record boxes, bags and cases, music accessories and related products along with high quality previously loved vinyl and CDs and a few books.
Soundclash was named one of Britains best small shops by the Guardian in 2007 and offers a unique shopping experience, allowing customers to listen to vinyl or CDs in store before purchasing, offering expertise, recommendations and a high quality personalised service, selling products that are hard to obtain at competitive prices.
Soundclash is the only city centre ticket outlet for UEA LCR and the Waterfront venues and many local and national events including festivals.
The shop is complemented by an online purchasing facility. Just get in touch if there is something you would like to purchase and have shipped to you.
Independent record shops have been increasingly challenged from all sides which is why so many have gone out of business - a big thank you to all the loyal customers who understand that they need to use us or lose us! If you haven't been in for a while – or ever, come in and find out why customers from all over East Anglia have come back again and again for the last 20 years!

A2 Advanced Portfolio Deadlines
1) Analysis of 2 documentaries, 3 double page spreads and 3 newspaper advertisements (more the better, be specific in your analysis. How will this research help in the planning and construction of your work?)
2) Brand image for portfolio package + comments on your work
3) Current documentary semiotic analysis (1000 words)
4) Analysis of target market audience. (again be specific, what are the hobbies and interests of your consumers)
5) Mock ups of double page spread, advertisement, film script + comments on your work
6) Analysis of the language used in the double page spread (informal, formal – what will you write about your documentary, how will it convince your consumer to watch your documentary?)
7.) Representation - How are the people in your documentary, newspaper advertisement and dps being represented? Think about age, gender, sexuality, disability, ethnicity and regional identity.
8) Questionnaire with results. You should also be able to upload your bar charts and graphs. Approach your target audience. Get both quantative and qualitative research.
**DEADLINE: ALL 8 MUST BE POSTED BEFORE HALF TERM (FEBRUARY 18TH 2011) FOR ASSESSMENT! YOUR PLANNING AND RESEARCH SECTION MUST BE COMPLETED.**
When you have posted all these you can start uploading your practical work.
Remember you can comment on blogs to get opinions about your work e.g. which title they prefer. This is your opportunity to be creative! For each piece of practical work you should have at least 2 draft copies that you have commented on to show development of skills and ideas. This will be useful when you come to theoretical evaluation.
Get your ‘target audience’ to comment on:
• Any drafts of your own magazine covers, contents pages, double page spread.
• Any other planning you have one e.g. deciding on title/use of fonts for magazine etc
• Music used in your documentary
• Cutaways, editing, lighting
• Your final documentary, double page spread and advertisement with comments.
• A comment box asking people’s views on your work with comments once it has finished. Facebook/Youtube will be useful for this.
• Your evaluation
*All your posts should be titled and give a brief description/comment on the work presented.
• The deadline for posting your documentary on your blog is by March 25th 2011. You should create a poll to ask people what they think of your final portfolio. Your video should also be on the media drive so we can create a DVD of your work using iDVD.
• The deadline for you to complete your double page spread and newspaper advertisement is April 8th 2011. This work MUST be in PDF format. NO LARGER THAN A3.
All other work should be posted already.
It will affect your ability to meet these deadlines.
You MUST include an element of audience feedback in your work!
